Paulie's In the News
Paulie's Anna Rose: Fine dining, casual comfort.
September 2008
By Carl Lavo
From our glass table on a landscaped patio, Mary Anne's eyes suddenly widened. "Oh, my God," she exclaimed.
"The dessert is two feet tall!"
My back was to the uniformed waiter descending the staircase from the mansion so I didn't see
the confection at first. It wasn't literally two feet tall, but the banana cream pie we were about
to share was stunning to behold: Two layers of bananas sandwiching a thick layer of delicious
banana cream, over which was a much thicker topping of fresh whipped cream, all artistically
drizzled with caramel sauce.
...An associate recommended the two story Victorian restaurant as one of her favorites.
We had never heard of it. But after a recent Saturday evening visit, we both agreed
that Paulie's is a terrific find for casual fine dining at moderate prices...
...The imposing white clapboard structure sits at the apex of a grassy knoll,
fronted by the patio, a massive lawn and three stately oak trees. Access is from the back,
where a circular drive passes close to a waiting room. Inside are two dining rooms,
capable of seating 90 patrons in a luxurious Victorian setting. Another private dining
quarter can seat up to 10 guests...
...Popular specialties include crab cakes conceived by the restaurant's executive chef
(who comes from the Yardley Country Club), sushi grade tuna, and Anna Rose salads topped
with grilled chicken, shrimp and scallops, homemade roasted peppers, black and green olives,
toasted pine nuts, Feta and sharp provolone cheese, and grilled Tuscan vegetables...

Great food, great setting at Paulie's Anna Rose
October 2003

...Occupying a 19th century house on West Upper Ferry Road, Paulie's Anna Rose is an elegant setting
for dining in Ewing Township. You're as likely to eat dinner next to the mayor or the CEO of a large
corporation as you are to sit next to your neighbor, and in this age of suburban sprawl, that's downright
old fashioned...
...All told, Paulie's Anna Rose was an excellent dining experience, from the setting to the quality
and variety of the food. For a special night out it makes an excellent choice...
